Erotica - about a girl named Erotica (Spanish film) who steals a bunch of money with 2 guys, one of the guys gets caught and Erotica and her beau run away to a small village to sell sponges...yeah. Basically it was your run of the mill bad Latino soap opera. Except the girl of the story wore a rather extremely see through top, that is when she wasn't washing it in the lake, topless. That was about it; 90 mins of crap and an okay-lookin' topless Mexican.
Never on Sunday - old b&w film. An American goes to Greece to discover where the world went wrong. He believes Greece (and Italy, of which he combines with Greece as one country) to have been the pinnacle of civilization back in the ancient Rome days. He wants to know how did things get so bad (his prospective). He runs into Illia, a Greek whore with a heart of gold. Everybody loves Illia. She is her own boss; she decides who she will take to her bed, and she never works on Sunday. That is her day to go to the theater. Well, our American has such high morals that he takes it upon himself to 'help' her change her ways. Old b&w basics, happy people, one man thinks he knows better, changes things, everybody wants back the way it was, he learns to love life in a way he never understood before. Eh. I liked it but...well, nothing bad about it but it was saturated with Greek stereotypes. Not bad stereotypes just saturated with them.
The Dreamers - France during the Vietnam War. An American college student (who loves film), obtains 2 new friends and is brought past the edge of his sexual and moral boundaries. It was good but it was filled with everything I hated about that era (all of it political). But it did have lots of nudity, lots and lots of nudity. And since the film only revolved around 3 people, 2 boys and 1 girl, you get 2 the male nudity as you do of the women. Oh well, that's the French for you. But you do get extreme close-ups of the extremely nude Eva Green. She played Sibylla in Kingdom of Heaven and Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale.
Sex & the Celts - Documentary about the Celts, Sex, and how today's standards came to be. Very interesting actually. It was kind of odd to be aroused by a documentary. All the professionals were very into talking about it. Most of it was like "Wow, that is really cool," and the rest was like "Okay, you are getting way to excited talking about that."
I have a 2 disc documentary on just the Celts to finish and then the next batch is fully of Sexplotation Japanese Comedies. Yeah, I don't know what to make of that either.
On to this month's agenda.
I am going to Spamalot. I don't care how or when but I going. It starts tonight and ends on Sunday. Next is Horrorfest 2007. I bought my all access pass but I forgot that I had plans this Saturday night so I will have to push it to next Saturday, the Horrorfest films that is. I will be going to Tori Amos this Saturday. I have 3 days to see 4 movies before they leave the theaters. Evanesence is coming to Lincoln on November 27th. I have Double Thanksgivings. One on the Sunday before and the one out at K&C's, of which I am making my Hot Sauce recipe. Once again, a busy month.
People, I'm gonna take December off.
